PA Firefighters join a growing list of labor unions backing Eugene; Recognize Eugene’s dedication to standing up for first responders
PITTSBURGH, PA – Democrat Eugene DePasquale received the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association (PPFFA) endorsement for Pennsylvania Attorney General. The PA Professional Firefighters join a growing list of labor unions backing Eugene and recognize his dedication to standing up for working families.
“First responders put their lives on the line every day to protect Pennsylvanians,” said Eugene DePasquale. “As Attorney General, I’ll have their back as they fight for better wages, better healthcare, and safer workplaces.”
As Auditor General, Eugene fought for emergency responders and the Pennsylvanians they protect. In 2019, Eugene released nearly $60 million in state aid to provide life-saving equipment, critical training and insurance for volunteer firefighters relief associations, helping firefighters keep themselves safe as they protect our communities. By increasing state aid, Eugene also reduced burdens on local taxpayers who rely on these emergency services.
“Eugene DePasquale is a champion for Pennsylvania’s first responders,” said Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association. “Eugene has a record of standing up for the brave men and women who keep our communities safe, and we know he’ll continue that work as our next Attorney General.”
The PA Professional Firefighters Association joins a number of labor unions supporting DePasquale, including Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 502, Ironworkers Local 3, Central PA Building Trades, the Amalgamated Transit Union, the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, and AFSCME Council 13.
