(Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) — The Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP) today endorsed Eugene DePasquale for Attorney General.
PASNAP is PA’s fastest growing union for nurses and healthcare professionals in PA, representing more than 8,400 RNs and allied care workers. PASNAP makes endorsements based on a candidate’s support of workers’ right to organize a union, safe staffing standards, universal access to healthcare, and prevention of harassment and violence against healthcare workers.
“Nurses and healthcare workers serve as the backbone of our healthcare system – not the CEOs in corner suites looking to cut costs by scaling down the number of nurses and healthcare professionals required for proper care. This only puts patients at risk - jeopardizing patient safety. We need Eugene DePasquale in the AG’s office to fight for nurses, frontline healthcare workers, safe staffing, and every Pennsylvanian who deserves quality care. We know and believe that he will.” said Maureen May, RN and PASNAP President
“I believe every Pennsylvanian has the right to quality, affordable health care,” said Eugene DePasquale. “When I’m your Attorney General, that right is going to be protected. You should have the freedom and access to the care you need, and the skilled, talented folks taking care of you must be taken care of as well. Nurses, and all workers, must have the right to form a union, fight for fair wages and safe working conditions. I’m honored by PASNAP’s support, and thank them for their care and service to us every day.”
