PITTSBURGH, PA – Democrat Eugene DePasquale has received the USW District 10 endorsement for Pennsylvania Attorney General.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of USW District 10 in my race for Attorney General. As a member of the Steelworkers, the union way of life is personal to me,” said DePasquale.
“The Attorney General plays a critical role in protecting the rights of workers to organize, prosecuting wage theft, and enforcing workplace safety standards. I’m dedicated to protecting workers from corporate greed because I know the struggles too many Pennsylvanians face,” said DePasquale, “Growing up we were denied health insurance because my brother Anthony had a preexisting condition. I’ll always stand up to corporations that abuse their power.”
USW District 10 joins a number of labor unions that are backing DePasquale including Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 502, Ironworkers Local 3, Central PA Building Trades, the Amalgamated Transit Union, and the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers.
In a letter announcing the endorsement, Bernie Hall, USW District 10 Director, cited DePasquale’s “dedication to the principles of justice, fairness, and advocacy for the rights of workers” as well as DePasquale’s “commitment to fight for the rights of working people, ensuring their safety, and promoting equitable treatment under the law.”
The USW District 10 endorsement complements Eugene’s growing list of endorsements from dozens of elected officials, unions, and leaders across Pennsylvania. Find all of Eugene’s endorsements here. Watch Eugene’s campaign introduction video here.
