PITTSBURGH, PA – Democrat Eugene DePasquale last night received the Beaver County Democratic endorsement for Pennsylvania Attorney General.

Eugene earned the overwhelming support of the Beaver County Democratic Committee in its endorsement vote, added to his county endorsement lead, and demonstrated again his frontrunner status.

“Pennsylvanians in every corner of this state are supporting our campaign because they know I’ll fight tooth and nail to protect abortion rights, defend our democracy, and hold corporations accountable,” said Eugene. “Democracy is quite literally on the ballot in this election, and we’re building a broad coalition to protect Pennsylvanians in November.”

Eugene’s fight for Pennsylvanians is personal - because he knows the struggles too many Pennsylvanians face. Eugene knows how corporations will take advantage of the most vulnerable, because he grew up without health insurance, just because his brother had a preexisting condition. Eugene also knows the damage the failed war on drugs and failure to treat addiction does to families. His father was a Vietnam veteran who became addicted after being prescribed opioid painkillers, and, like too many in our Commonwealth, was ultimately incarcerated.

Eugene’s support has continued to grow, because Pennsylvanians know that he will fight for them. In December, Eugene won the most votes at the Democratic State Committee, earning 52% of the vote in a five-candidate race. Since then, he has earned the endorsements of the Armstrong, Northumberland, and Perry County Democratic Committees, the Chartiers Valley Democrats, the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, and numerous elected officials across the state.

“Our momentum continues to grow because Democrats across Pennsylvania know what's on the line and that Eugene is the candidate who can win in November,” said Emily Kinkead, campaign chair. “Eugene’s message is powerful and people across Pennsylvania know he's fighting for the folks too many politicians forget.”

The Beaver County endorsement complements Eugene’s growing list of endorsements from dozens of elected officials, unions, and leaders across Pennsylvania.

Just like any Pennsylvanian, Eugene doesn’t back down from a tough fight.

Whether it’s standing up for women’s reproductive freedoms, taking on police bureaucracy to reduce backlogs in untested rape kits, or holding polluters accountable for dirtying our air and water, Eugene has your back.

Born and raised in the blue-collar city of Pittsburgh, Eugene knows the value of hard work, putting himself through law school at night.

Eugene is a lifetime Democrat and principled leader who will stand up to both parties to protect Pennsylvanians. He’s earned a reputation as a transparent, independent watchdog of the taxpayer’s money.

As former state legislator and two-term Auditor General with a record of protecting Pennsylvanians by taking on tough challenges and holding each party accountable, Eugene asks for your support in his campaign for Attorney General.
